A short introduction to the seven Energy centers

It is beyond stunning to know that the world is 99.999999% energy and the difference is the matter, but our human focus is so narrowed out to the matter- the 0.000001% of what this universe is!

Note that atoms combine to make molecules and when that binding happens, energy is involved, either released or absorbed, and this energy magnifies as the molecules combine to form cells, and continues to grow as cells become tissues, and a combination of similar tissues into organs and those organs targeting the same line of function to make an organ system, and so on. Essentially, the combination of organ systems that form a human physical body radiates energy. Incidents, where a person receiving an organ transplant from a deceased person acquires certain characteristics or memory flashes of the latter, prove that every cell in our body is very much alive, independent in its own way, and carries memory.

There are several energy centers or Chakras as we refer to in Hinduism, about 114 chakras, but only 108 of them are functional and two are located outside of the body. Dr. Joe Dispenza offers scientific and biological explanations for these energy centers. He contends that these centers have their own intelligence, given that they perform distinct functions and possess individual glands, hormones, chemistry, and plexus of neurons. Among these energy centers, seven are particularly noteworthy as they perform essential roles.

This post is going to be a short introduction to these chakras and the significance of these energy centers.

  1. Root Chakra/ Muladhara/ Inferior Mesentric Plexus: Location: Perineum Functionality: Sexuality, sexual identity, reproduction, and elimination. Region: Reproductive organs, lower bowel, and anus. Significance: Balance in this chakra reflects grounded sexual identity and free flow of creative energy.

  2. Sacral Chakra/ Svadisthana/ Superior Mesentric Plexus: Location: Behind and slightly below the navel. Functionality: Consumption, digestion, and elimination. Region: Pancreas, colon, ovaries, uterus, lower back. Significance: Balance in this chakra reflects feeling safe and secure in the environment and the World.

  3. Solar Plexus Chakra/ Manipura/ Celiac Plexus: Location: Pit of gut Functionality: Digestion, absorption, and assimilation. Region: Stomach, small intestine, liver, gall bladder, spleen, adrenal glands and kidneys. Significance: Balance in this chakra reflects our will, drive, self-esteem, personal power, and directed intention.

  4. Heart Chakra/ Anahata/ Cardiac Plexus/ Seat of the Soul: Location: Space behind the breastbone. Functionality: Immune system, growth, repair, regeneration, blood purification. Region: Heart, Lungs, Thymus glands. Significance: Balance in this chakra reflects love, nurturing, caring, gratitude, compassion, thankfulness, kindness, appreciation, inspiration, selflessness, wholeness and trust.

  5. Throat Chakra/ Visuddha/ Thyroid Plexus: Location: Center of the throat. Functionality: Speech, metabolism, Calcium levels management. Region: Thyroid, Parathyroid, Salivary glands. Significance: Balance in this chakra reflects an effective expression of love and gratitude.

  6. Third Eye Chakra/ Ajna/ Carotid Plexus: Location: An inch above and between eyebrows. Functionality: Maintaining Circadian rhythm, and brain functionality. Region: Eyes, and Pineal gland. Significance: Balance in this chakra reflects that you are being more lucid, more conscious of both your inner world and your outer world, seeing and perceiving more each day.

  7. Crown Chakra/ Sahasra/ Cerebral Cortex: Location: An inch above and between eyebrows. Functionality: Maintaining Circadian rhythm, and brain functionality. Region: Cerebral Cortex, Central Nervous system, and pituitary gland. Significance: Balance in this chakra reflects the highest level of Consciousness.

It is clear that as we go higher up in the energy centers, we get clearer, intellectual, and evolve as intellectual/spiritual beings. The issue is that there is a lot of significant energy trapped at the first 3 energy centers, and through systematic meditation and breathing techniques, these can be released and common man like you and I are capable of transcending this state of commonality to become Supernatural!
